This past Monday, Mission Commander Buster completed his fourth and final dose of the initial Oncept series. We went into the appointment holding onto every star in the sky, hoping for clear scans and a smooth path forward.

Mission Commander Buster continues to defy gravity! We are thrilled to report that he has successfully completed his third dose of Oncept immunotherapy. With each waypoint, Buster proves just how resilient and determined he truly is.

Mission Commander Buster has successfully completed another critical waypoint in his journey through the stars! Yesterday, he received his second dose of Oncept immunotherapy, bringing him to the halfway point of his initial treatment series. We are overjoyed to report that the mission continues to proceed with unwavering light and courage.

We are celebrating another major milestone this weekend! On Friday, our brave Buster Boy had his post-op appointment and received the all-clear to get his stitches removed. His vet at Chesterfield Animal Hospital said his incision site had healed well with no signs of infection or inflammation!

Meow-lo, Everyone! It’s me, Buster, a.k.a. “The Bestest Boy”, and I have some PAW-some news to share with you all!!

First, some context: As you know, last week one of the amazing doctors at Chesterfield Animal Hospital took my back leg to protect me from some bad cancer cells. Then on Monday, I went to VCA Fishers and handeld my first big immunotherapy dose like an absolute champion! My Mom built me an amazing “Recovery Pod” with a half-wall about 2 ½ feet high, which was cute, but she underestimated the gravitational pull toward my family.

As Buster embarks on his immunotherapy journey, many of you have asked about the specifics of his treatment. Today, we want to shine a light on Oncept, the innovative therapy that’s helping Buster fight his rare cancer, and explain how it’s administered with surprising comfort, thanks to a needle-free device.

Today was a monumental day in Buster’s journey to keep his stars bright! We’re thrilled to report that our bestest boy successfully received his first dose of Oncept immunotherapy. It was a big step, and Buster, ever the brave astronaut, handled it with his usual grace and resilience.

Buster has been home and healing beautifully since joining the Tri-Kitty Club. His resilience never ceases to amaze us — from taking his first tentative steps on three legs to finding his favorite sunbeams, he is proving every day that he is ready to keep fighting. But as he rests and regains his strength, we are looking ahead to the next crucial phase of his journey.

We are so incredibly relieved that Buster is home and recovery is underway!

His surgeon let us know that the amputation procedure went exactly as planned, and because his vitals were strong and he recovered well from the anesthesia, we were able to bring out bestest boy home the very same day. Walking out of the clinic with him in our arms was a huge relief and one of the best feelings in the world!

The day we have been preparing our hearts for has finally arrived. This morning, we dropped Buster off at our regular vet for his amputation surgery.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned this week, it’s that a healing journey isn’t a straight line — it’s a map that changes as you learn the terrain. After further consultation with Buster’s specialists and a deeper look at his latest results, we have a major update on his care plan. We are moving quickly to get Buster the care he needs and have a tentatively scheduled surgery* to amputate his effected leg tomorrow.

When we started this journey, we knew we were facing a mountain, but we didn’t quite know the shape of it. This week, we received the “map” — Buster’s Immunohistochemistry (IHC) results.
