The Recovery Shuttle Has Landed: A Note from The Bestest Boy, Himself!

Meow-lo, Everyone! It’s me, Buster, a.k.a. “The Bestest Boy”, and I have some PAW-some news to share with you all!!

First, some context: As you know, last week one of the amazing doctors at Chesterfield Animal Hospital took my back leg to protect me from some bad cancer cells. Then on Monday, I went to VCA Fishers and handeld my first big immunotherapy dose like an absolute champion! My Mom built me an amazing “Recovery Pod” with a half-wall about 2 ½ feet high, which was cute, but she underestimated the gravitational pull toward my family.

You see, human textbooks say a cat needs four legs to navigate the universe, but I never learned how to read, so last night, I decided my quarantine was officially over, and I launched myself out of the “Recovery Pod” so I could put Mom and Dad to bed again as usual! I cleared that containment wall on three legs, found a glorious nest of Dad’s stinky clothes to nest in, and hitched a ride to dock directly in between Mom and Dad so I could make the best “Bedtime Biscuits” in the galaxy!!

Landing the Shuttle: This morning, I set out as a landing party of one when I hopped off the bed all by myself, took a casual stroll through the kitchen to check on my bowl, used my regular litter box, and did a victory tummy-flop right back onto the mattress. Losing a limb might sound heavy to you humans, but to me…it’s mission complete! I’m lighter, faster, and ready for my next sunny adventure!

Check out my Facebook or Instagram to see me in action!

See you on the next shooting star!

With bedtime biscuits for all,

Buster (Mom, Dad, Binx, Melody Melone, and Julius)
